Oh hi!
Just wondering, is there a way to change sex (I really dislike how it
adds '(x)' in node list because I didn't initially care to disclose it)?
Also, location? I figured I'd be able to change that in my profile if I
was travelling or moving around. But, I don't see how to change that either.

That's up to the sysop of the particular BBS If they want to make those user properties configurable or not. It's not a built-in/default feature of Synchronet, if that's what you're asking.
Ah, so if I wanted to change any of those already set details otherwise
on a standard Synchronet setup, I'd need to ask the sysop - Got it!
(Apologies, I think I accidentally replied directly to you via e-mail instead of newsgroup)

wow, you're actually a user?
The good news, I've almost finished a javascript version of the default setttings, which will allow the sysop to easily add and remove configuration options. I have also designed it to use a template so you can change the look and feel to match your BBS, with a little effort, without having to dip in the code, unless you want to.
Adding the location would be trivial, but will probably require you to squish something around and put some items on 2 lines, otherwise you're going to get some scrolling.

There's no easy way for a user to change their own location. In fact, I think it's impossible as Digital Man indicated.

No BBS here, I'm just a user on Vertrauen currently.

I'd love to see this stuff reach upstream.
Synchronet offering NNTP lets me download messages when I do have an Internet connection so I can later read/write responses. Later, when I
Modern Internet applications really suck for this, good luck trying to get this sort of flexibility on Discord, Reddit etc.
